INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Lemon Chiffon, a lightly-raced 6-year-old mare, hopes to spring an upset in the $250,000-added Gamely Stakes, a Grade 1 test for fillies and mares at 1 1/8 miles on the Hollywood Park turf Saturday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After working a half-mile each Monday morning, Kentucky Derby (Grade 1) winner Mine That Bird and Kentucky Oaks (Grade I) and Preakness (Grade I winner Rachel Alexandra returned to the track Wednesday morning. Rachel Alexandra was out first around 6:30, going once around with Dominic Terry up. Mine That Bird came out an hour later and went twice around with Charlie Figueroa up.



Charlie Papa looking for repeat in Cool Air at Calder

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Kennedy and Hess Thoroughbred Racing’s 8-year-old mare Charlie Papa shipped from trainer Connie Kendall’s headquarters near Tampa Bay Downs to Calder Race Course last year at this time to capture the Cool Air overnight stakes at five furlongs on turf, and is entered to bid for a ‘three-peat’ victory in this year’s edition worth $55,000 on Saturday’s 12-race program.

Lukas commits Luv Gov, Flying Private to Belmont Stakes

ELMONT, N.Y. – Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas worked both Luv Gov and Flying Private wednesday morning at Churchill Downs, and will send both in the 141st running of the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 6.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Racing resumes Friday night at Hollywood Park with first post at 7:05 p.m. Post time will be 1 p.m. for cards Saturday and Sunday.

Feature event Saturday is the $250,000-added, Grade 1 Gamely Stakes, featuring 2008 CashCall Mile winner Diamond Diva and Magical Fantasy and Black Mamba, one-two finishers, respectively, in the Santa Barbara Handicap in April.

The $150,000 Honeymoon Handicap — the last major prep to the $700,000 American Oaks on July 5…
