Derby horses have the advantage in Preakness

Six horses from the Kentucky Derby have entered the 137th running of the Preakness at Pimlico Race Course on Saturday, May 19. The sixth are I’ll Have Another (winner), Bodemeister (second), Went the Day Well (fourth) Creative Cause (fifth), Daddy Nose Best (tenth) and Optimizer (eleventh).

The safe beat is that the winner of the Preakness in the 11-horse field will come from one of those six horses.

The Vanlandingham Stakes is the third on the card, and this mile and sixteenth main track contest is highlighted by the return to racing of multiple graded stakes winner Stay Thirsty.
