Bodemeister may have stamped himself as the morning-line favorite in the Kentucky Derby after he dominated the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park. He went right to the lead and re-broke at the quarter-pole to run away and hide. Dullahan picked up the pieces in the Blue Grass after Hansen set very fast early fractions. The 2012 Kentucky Derby list stands at 20. Hero of Order shocks the Louisiana Derby by winning the race at 109-1. That gives the colt $600,000 in graded earnings and a place in the starting gate on the first Saturday in May. I’ll go on record right now and say he doesn’t belong there, but his trainer Gennadi Dorochenko say he’s going. The final time for the mile-and-an-eighth Louisiana Derby was a painfully…

The 2012 Kentucky Derby list stands at 20. Take Charge Indy won the Florida Derby after a troubled trip by Union Rags in the race. That one rallied to be third, but once again I think jockey Julien Leparoux got a horse in trouble. Daddy Long Legs won the UAE Derby at the Dubai World Cup and trainer Aidan O’Brien is looking very strongly at the Derby.
