We start our week once again from Keeneland, as the storied track enters its final three days of the 2012 spring meet. Today’s eighth and feature is a nice turf allowance for three-year-olds, and with a distance of five and a half furlongs, it will most certainly be a quick one. Let’s get started.

As we approach the final week of Keeneland’s spring meet, we are once again treated to a graded stakes contest, this time the Ben Ali. This main track test at the handicap distance of a mile-and-an-eighth, features the return to racing of Wise Dan, who when last seen here was taking the Grade 2 Fayette field to the woodshed. Six others load into the starting gate to take their shot at the big…

Race 9 – Keeneland – Coolmore Lexington G3, 1 1/16 on Polytrack for 3-year-olds – post time: 5:13 p.m. EDT

The Lexington is a last-ditch effort for several colts to get enough graded earnings to make the Kentucky Derby field.  Castaway (7) is perhaps the most serious hopeful after winning the Southwest. He faded fast in the Sunland Derby, but most likely was just having an off day. He…

Well, we end the weekend with what else, another graded contest, and once again it comes from the Bluegrass state in the form of Keeneland’s eighth and feature, the Grade 2 Beaumont Stakes for three-year-old fillies. A rare small field of six takes to the all-weather main track for this seven furlong sprint, and as we continued to see, if they make it to the starting gate, they got a chance. Let’s get…

All eyes will be on champion, Hansen (4) as he makes his final start before the Derby in the Blue Grass. The colt does not have to win this race, but simply get something out of it for the big one. That said, he looks like the…
