The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that its Annual Meeting and Marketing Summit will move to Tucson this December to coincide with the 37th Annual Racing and Gaming Symposium presented by the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program. The Symposium is slated for Dec. 6-9 at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson.
The NTRA Annual Meeting and Marketing Summit will offer an interactive forum on a wide array of programs and initiatives. Topics to be covered include marketing and promotions, legislative advocacy, NTRA Advantage purchasing program and the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance. The conference will also include a Q&A session with NTRA President and CEO Alex Waldrop.
The NTRA Annual Meeting and Marketing Summit will be free to those who are registered attendees at the Symposium. A complete schedule of events for the Marketing Summit will be released later in the year.
“Tuscon has established itself as the location where the greatest percentage of industry participants gather to conduct business and share ideas,” said NTRA senior vice president Keith Chamblin. “Moving our Annual Meeting and Marketing Summit there will allow us to communicate with a broader collection of our membership while, at the same time, saving many members the expense of an extra trip.”
The NTRA is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests consisting of leading Thoroughbred racetracks, owners, breeders, trainers, horseplayers and affiliated horse racing associations, charged with increasing the popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants. The NTRA has offices in Lexington, Ky., and Rye Brook, N.Y. NTRA press releases appear on the NTRA web site, NTRA.com.
