NYRA offers $500,000 Pick 4 on Jockey Club Gold Cup day

ELMONT, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced that it will offer a $500,000 Guaranteed All Grade 1 Pick 4 on Jockey Club Gold Cup Day, Saturday, October 3 at BelmontPark. All four races will be televised during the MSG Plus and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) broadcast from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. that day.
The $500,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 will include the following races, subject to change until entries are drawn:
Race 7: $400,000 Grade 1 Vosburgh, 3-year-olds & up, 6 furlongs dirt
Race 8: $600,000 Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational, fillies & mares, 1-1/4 miles turf
Race 9: $600,000 Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, 3-year-olds & up, 1-1/2 miles turf
Race 10: $750,000 Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational, 3-year-olds & up, 1-1/4 miles dirt
The Pick 4 is a $1 minimum wager in which the bettor must correctly pick the winners of four races in a row. By guaranteeing the wager for $500,000, NYRA will supplement the difference if the total wagering pool for the Pick 4 is less than $500,000.
During the 2009 Belmont Fall Championship Meet, NYRA offers a $350,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays. So far, there have been three Saturdays during the meet that offered the wager, with an average pool size of $380,806. On Jockey Club Gold Cup Day, the $500,000 Guaranteed All Grade 1 Pick 4 will be offered in lieu of the $350,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4.
During the 2009 Saratoga Meet, NYRA offered a $500,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays. There were five Saturdays during the meet that offered the wager, with an average pool size of $731,747.
During the 2009 Belmont Park Spring/Summer Meet, NYRA offered a $350,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays. There were eleven Saturdays during the meet that offered the wager, with an average pool size of $424,736.
During the 2009 Aqueduct Spring Meet, NYRA offered a $250,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays. There were eleven Saturdays in total during the meet that offered the wager, with an average pool size of $331,340.
