Pick Six carryover of $81,826 into Thursday at Santa Anita

TOTAL POOL EXPECTED TO EXCEED $300,000

ARCADIA, Calif. — For the 13th time in 49 racing days, no one correctly tabbed six winners in Santa Anita’s popular Pick Six on Wednesday, creating a carryover of $81,826 into Thursday and the expectation of a total pool of more than $300,000.

Wednesday’s Pick Six began in race three, which was won by Nitro Active, under Garrett Gomez.  The Doug O’Neill trainee paid $12.60 to win and is owned by Decker Racing, Flintridge Stable and A. Venneri Racing.  Nitro Active is a 5-year-old California-bred gelding by Capsized.

Race four, a third condition allowance at six furlongs, went to Quisisana, returning $7.00 under Rafael Bejarano.  Trained by Mike Puype, this marked the third consecutive win for the 5-year-old California-bred mare by Decarchy who is owned by Ran Jan Racing, Inc.

The fifth went to Unusually Sound, paying $5.40 to win under Alex Solis.  Trained by Paddy Gallagher, the 4-year-old California-bred gelding by Unusual Heat is owned by his breeders, Harris Farms Inc. and Michael and Cory Wellman.

Wednesday’s sixth race went to longshot Stockings, who although 4-1 on the morning line, paid $19.80 to win under Joel Rosario.  A 3-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Hennessy, she’s trained by John Sadler and is owned by Michael Talla.

Victor Espinoza booted Noblety home to a comfortable win in race seven, paying $8.80 to win.  The 5-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding by Contemplate is owned and trained by Eric Kruljak.

This Time Baby took the eighth race under Martin Garcia, paying $9.00 to win.  Bred in California by Terry Lovingier, the 3-year-old filly by Rio Verde is trained by Walther Solis and is owned by Lovingier or Templeton Horses, LLC.

First post time on Thursday is 1 p.m.  The Pick Six will cover races three through eight.
