NEW ORLEANS, La. – Prior to Friday night’s Starlight Racing at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, the newly renovated Star Guitar Bar on the west end of the paddock will be officially unveiled with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

Revamped in honor of Louisiana’s richest thoroughbred racehorse of all time, the bar will be open to public throughout the Starlight Racing event and every live racing day thereafter. The bar space features a beautiful new cypress bar, fresh new paint, as well as eight 51” TVs. Star Guitar retired with 24 wins from 30 career starts, including a ten-race winning streak to end his career, with earnings totaling $1,749,862 for Evelyn Benoit’s Brittlyn Stables.

Benoit will be the guest of honor at the ribbon cutting ceremony, and complimentary champagne and samples of the bar’s signature cocktail, The Star Power by Star Guitar, will be served to invited guests.

In addition to serving as the presenting partner for the Star Guitar Bar, Ms. Benoit, being a strong advocate for thoroughbred racing, has partnered with the Fair Grounds to bring attention and awareness to the sport with a campaign running through March 30. These efforts will be seen on street cars on the Canal and Riverfront lines along with several billboards in the vicinity of the New Orleans Arena and Superdome.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, the first 60 guests to purchase a Star Power will receive their cocktail in a commemorative 16oz LED boot.
