HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Kingfield Stable’s Buddy’s Saint worked six furlongs in 1:13 2/5 Sunday morning at Gulfstream Park for trainer Bruce Levine as the Remsen Stakes (G2) winner got a final drill ahead of his highly-anticipated 3-year-old debut in Saturday’s $250,000 Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2).

Buddy’s Saint was caught in fractions of 12 3/5, 25 2/5 and 49 2/5 along the way in Sunday’s move after posting a ‘bullet’ six furlongs here last Saturday in 1:12 2/5. The $100,000 Keeneland September yearling by Saint Liam won the nine-furlong Remsen at Aqueduct by 4 ¾ lengths last out on Nov. 28.

“He worked really good, but didn’t go super fast,” said Levine. “He went 13 and change and I was really happy with it… just what I was looking for. He galloped out really good in 27 (seven furlongs). It wasn’t super fast, but he couldn’t work any better. We’re on schedule. He’ll have a couple gallops this week and that’s it. Everything is behind us now.”

Other probable/possible starters in the Fountain of Youth working Sunday morning were Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Pleasant Prince, five furlongs in 1:00 1/5 at Gulfstream for trainer Mike Maker and Dogwood Stable’s Aikenite, who went five-eighths in 1:00 3/5 at Palm Meadows for trainer Todd Pletcher.
